HAVANA — It’s no secret that the U-shaped, four-pack of facial care products used by many celebrities to make themselves look thinner, lighter and more attractive is popular in Latin America and Africa.
But the popular product may soon be arriving in the U: Face Care facial cream.
It’s a $35-a-pack product that is meant to provide a similar look to the popular, $50-a.c. facial cream that was once sold in the United States, but with a stronger concentration of antioxidants.
The U.K.-based company, called L’Oreal, is launching the product in Mexico, a major market for cosmetics, including the U.-shaped facial cream, at the beginning of the year.
It will roll out across Mexico in the coming weeks.
The Mexican brand, L’Occitane, launched a version of its facial cream in the first quarter of 2016 in its own stores in the country.
The company said the U’s product is much stronger and has fewer allergens than its own.
“We’re here to say that we know how to make the best product in the world,” L’ Occitane CEO Carlos Cordero said in a statement.
“The best product is a natural product that you have to make yourself.”
The company is launching a nationwide launch this week.
The U. S. version of L’occitane is scheduled to go on sale in late July.
